eco-friendly Idbids toys | February 27, 2009 - (ATLANTA) - Organizers of the 17th Annual Marketing Awards for Excellence (MAX Awards) today announced Idbids' Eco-friendly Starter Kit as the Grand Winner. Presented by the Department of Marketing at Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business and the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the MAX Awards are Georgia's most prestigious marketing awards event and honor innovation, great marketing and the success of Georgia businesses.
Idbids, LLC, creates toys that educate children on environmental sustainability and responsibility. The Idbids Eco-friendly Starter Kit teaches "iddy biddy steps children can take to keep our Earth happy, healthy and green." Made from organic, earth-friendly materials, the kit includes a plush toy, backpack, storybook, activity-based field guide and online reward program.
In addition to Idbids as Grand Winner, there were two winners: CIBA Vision for the FreshLook Color Contact Lenses Color Studio and Southwire Company for its SureSeal product. Winners were chosen from a group of finalists selected by the Georgia State University Marketing RoundTable, which comprises senior marketing executives from many of Atlanta's top companies. "Selected by their peers on the GSU Marketing Roundtable, the MAX Awards winners represent true innovation in marketing," said Ken Bernhardt, Regents Professor of Marketing and Special Assistant to the Dean at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business. "Each case study showcases quantifiable results in product development as well as fresh thinking to market the product to the right audience. The three winners set a standard in executing a successful marketing campaign through product and service innovation."
The winners were presented MAX Awards at the annual awards breakfast held today at the Georgia Aquarium. The keynote speaker at the event was Bill Curry, head coach for the Georgia State University Panthers football team and author of the recently-released book, Ten Men You Meet in the Huddle.

Also announced during the breakfast ceremony were this year's recipients of the 2009 GSU Marketing RoundTable Outstanding Minority Marketing Student Scholarship:
- Crystal Ivey, Bachelor's in Marketing and Finance student, who will graduate December 2009
- Amleset Kindane, currently an intern for Porsche Cars North America and Bachelor's in Marketing student, who will graduate December 2009
- Mandy Williams, currently with FTI Consulting, Inc. and Bachelor's in Marketing and Managerial Sciences student, who will graduate May 2010
