November 6, 2009 - (ATLANTA) - Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business offers one of the five best part-time MBA programs in the South according to biennial rankings released yesterday by BusinessWeek. Among public universities, the College's part-time MBA ranks first in the South and in the national top 10.
BusinessWeek bases its part-time MBA rankings on three measures: a student survey measuring general satisfaction; academic quality; and post-MBA outcomes. The College's program received an "A" for teaching quality and was rated "best for career changers." Student respondents answered open-ended questions about their educational experience. Comments from Robinson graduates included:
- "The level of instruction at Robinson is on the same level as any elite full-time MBA program."
- "The diversity of the student body as it relates to race, gender and ethnicity as well as educational and occupational backgrounds greatly enhances the learning experience."
- "For the money and the reputation nationally, I couldn't have done better."
The College offers its part-time MBA in two formats:
- The Professional MBA—a fast track, executive-format program in which students proceed as a cohort and graduate in 24 months
- The Flexible MBA—with this at-your-own-pace program, students earn their degree in two to five years
Earlier this year, Robinson's part-time MBA was ranked among the top 10 programs in the nation for the 14th consecutive year by U.S. News & World Report.
The sixth largest business school in the United States and part of a major research institution, the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University has more than 8,000 students, approximately 200 faculty and 70,000 alumni. Noted for an emphasis on educating leaders, the Robinson College and Georgia State have produced more of Georgia's top executives with graduate degrees than any other school in the nation.
